Our story

About Pine Coast

A Maine-built surf shop crafting boards for cold-water swells.

Surfboard shaping room with shaper sanding a blank Hand-shaped in southern Maine

Pine Coast started with a garage planer, a stack of blanks, and the belief that the Gulf of Maine deserves boards shaped for its punchy peaks. Today our crew builds and rides everything we sell—from grovelers for York sandbars to step-ups for hurricane season.

The craft

We dial in rocker, rails, and volume with your home break in mind. Our shaping and glassing workflow is built for cold water: stronger glass schedules, dialed fin box reinforcement, and finishes that hold up through winter duck dives.

Materials

PU and EPS blanks, epoxy or poly resins, and eco-forward options on request.

Design

Custom templates, balanced foil, and volume mapping for Maine sandbars.

Finish

Polish, tint, or matte finishes with color matching for your quiver.

What guides us

  • Community first. We partner with local schools, grom contests, and beach cleanups.
  • Cold-water ready. Materials, glass schedules, and fins dialed for Atlantic winters.
  • Built to last. Repairs and refreshes keep gear moving instead of landfilled.
